A Poet Not a Writer

A poet not a writer

I want to adopt a new born African baby

And when they need food I won't let them go hungry

And I'll teach them to know right not just from God only

And I'll play with them every day so they don't ever get lonely

And I'll watch them go to school and learn how to grow boldly

And I'll see them stand strong for the reasons they told me

And I'll see them leave home and have their own family

And I'll write to them of a dream I had 30 years ago and wrote poetry.
