A Poet Is
A poet is a mountain stream melting, ever flowing.
Where it starts or where it ends never really knowing.
A poet is a child's cry an old man or woman's laughter.
A brush of wind from an angels wing a reminder from hereafter.
A poet is a broken heart from one that's been done wrong.
A warrior with a spear in hand, rising still. And strong.
A poet is a lovers kiss, soft but firm and sweet.
A smile from a stranger that's passing on the street.
A poet is a symphony, a song that's not yet played.
A poet is a frightened soul that did not run, it stayed.
A poet is a troubled mind that's sometimes filled with sorrow.
Finding strength somewhere within and hope for their tomorrow.
A poet is a promise, they're the answer that you seek.
The writer of your feelings, the words that you can't speak.
A poet is a shining star shining brightly from above.
A poet is all this and more, to be a poet is to love.
