A Poem That Rhymes

I do not know if this is odd but for me, most times I do not feel the need to write a poem that rhymes I generally find you see that when that writing bug has bit rhyming is not my go to proclivity ‘cos when I do have something to say rhyming very often just gets in the way. so I’ll leave you with this little thought if my poem doesn’t rhyme does that mean it’s all for nought.

I can resonate with this so strongly. I feel like whenever i try to rhyme i have to use my brain, which i find is difficult as my poems come from my heart. I admire poets that rhyme but unfortunately most of my poems are rhymeless. Unless i do a form. I wish rhymes come easy for me! This poem is a fave for me

I agree! I can never sit down and plan to write free verse, it has to just fly out of my head onto the page emitted by the sub conscious - leaving my conscious self to have a little rest from all the thinking. Rhyming and other poetic practice is perhaps just like going to the gym... haha my head is too full, ignore me :) good poem!
