A Place To Ponder

I am sitting on the cliff overlooking the river
Far below in the crevice of the mountains,
Where the waters meander like a ribbon
And the rafters are tiny figurines fighting
The currents like whirligigs on the creek.
It’s a fine place to ponder life’s options,
When all seems grayish skies and bleak
And words come slowly to fit the writing,
While the mind wanders free unbidden
Ideas bubbling up like creative fountains
Thoughts as elusive as slippery quicksilver.

Thanks so much, Caren. I liked this poem, too. It was another one that just "bubbled up" out of nowhere.

Rama, I was sitting at my computer. No matter where you are sitting, your imagination can take you anywhere you wish to go. Dream, my friend, dream big and go with it.

We all need a place to ponder, getting our poetic thoughts together. Sounds like a perfect place...Delice

You are so right, Delice. I'm glad I could remind everyone of this very fact, even though I was sitting here at my computer when I wrote it. Check out my response to Rama! Incidentally, so happy you placed high in my recent contest!!!

Overwhelming imagery, Milt, no question, is an excellent place to relax and think and communicate with nature.
