A Perfect Waltz

A PERFECT WALTZ

In her dreams I am a monarch
A prince in a kingdom of words
Someday I may be the king
But I desire not such a thing
I desire a queen to rule over my heart
Adorning my eyes a live work of art

In her dream I am an artist
I can paint her songs on the wind
The brightest yellows dance with the deepest blues
A perfect waltz in ballet shoes
She fills the frame so flawlessly
And I say that in modesty

In her dream I'm a beam of light
That found its bliss upon her skin
And in this lucid glow
I shine to let her know
I see her soul
iIt's beautiful

In my dream I am not a king
Nor a painter
Nor beam of light
I am something much greater
I am yours
