A Penny's Worth

If thoughts are worth a penny (Which was once the going rate), Then those folks who haven’t any Should just bide their time and wait. If we factor in inflation, What we think’s worth so much more Than the age-old application Of that passé metaphor. Still, no matter what they’re paying To express what’s in our head, There will still be some displaying Merely emptiness instead.

With American teachers spending 6-hours per day in Elementary School classrooms containing 55-students, it is no wonder at all we spend 20-30 minutes in a queue to pay a cashier with minimal reading/math/comprehension skills, so we are still getting about one penny's worth! Well said, again! Aloha! Rico

I remember when a penny acually had value. I still treat them as if they do. Wonderful Ilene! : )

Wow! You said it all in this very insightful verse, Ilene! Thx for your comments re While America Sleeps. It could also have another connotation I reckon since most of America sleeps while things are going to hell! Take good care - Bob
