A Nightly Wind

And I saw him walking
From a distance, from a long way
And is he listening
For the nightly wind to a coming day

He seem determine, walking in strides
A confident pace for he who knows
Against all odds, against time he rides
No one in mind, just himself to follow

So far, perhaps nearer he came
And I realize I do not know him at all
He did not tell me his name
Less friendly yet a lesser enemy to call

Did he know, perhaps he knew
The world echoing beneath footsteps
Movement within his presence so still
Of roads and words shall ever elapse

From a distance, from a long way
I am to see he who is walking
A nightly wind whispering away
He be I, am I listening?
