A Night of Wishful Reverie

My mind is drifting like clouds carried by the wind
My thoughts are floating like one who had too much gin
No, I am not drunk; do not misunderstand me
I’m just loosening my grip on wishful reverie

Two years have gone by, but my heart still longs for you
Two years have gone by, do you still feel that way too?
I have prayed to God to take away those feelings
Feelings I have tried to evict from my thinking

Resisting those thoughts is not a good solution
The more I resist, the stronger my affection
I will not hold back; let me dream of what could be
Let me dream of us; of you drawing close to me
