A New Day Waits

A new day waits
To rouse my slumber
I open my eyes
For what medley I wonder

The day spent longing
To be over and done
Dispatched to my pillow
And the peace I’ll find
Once my slumbers begun

My pain will abscond
Through the way of the pen
I’ll write down some thoughts
And then some others again

Every so often
A life’s passer by
A glimpse at such words
Will fetch a tear to their eye

To all God’s in heaven
Their gratitude unfolds
Their search for pains meaning
Within the words I have told
