A New Christmas

Christmas is not the same
Invites never came
Friends are few
As I start a new

No lights or Santa Claus
Not even a wreath at all
No parties to attend
No Christmas cards to send

Gifts I will not receive
There is nothing I need
No more toys to buy
The time just flies by

Extended family is not what I need
Toxicity is unhealthy
It is clear to me
To just let them be

Honest about who I am
What I believe and where I stand
Honesty is grand
When truth is at hand

Church is where I will be
Spending it with my new family
Jesus is all I need
For he has saved me

Don’t have a tree
Just the Nativity
As his birth is important to me
As it is what Christmas should be
