A must

Wondering why
When they said I might die
I didn't cry
Didn't feel sad
Or glad
A calmness filled my soul
The peace stilled the blow
I held life dear
But felt no fear
Shed not a tear
Like everything was okay
What could I say
Didn't matter I might not see tomorrow
For some reason I held no sorrow
Totally in control without trying
Felt no need for crying
Life was good
It's pain I understood
Total trust
I felt was a must
Trust that I would live
For I had more yet to give
Things yet to do
My soul is true
My heart was broken
Fear never awoken
I was in comforting hands then
Always been
Soothing my fears
Drying my tears
Leading my way
Throughout each day
Giving me strength
To go the length
I kneel
I heal
For the peace I feel
I thank you
My heart beats true
