How kind of you.... thank you Linda. You said you just overcame your worst nightmare...was it a death? Also, you commented that this poem was Very sad and deep for a Haiku, should I have not called this a Haiku poem? Just asking because I am new at this and am open to any constructive critiques. Once again, thank you so much for reading & commenting on this write and for taking the time to extend to me well wishes. I wish all the same for you.

The most intense grief ever suffered by anyone, when a parent loses a child.

In answer to your question about Haiku, JoanMarie, Haiku is nature, Tanka is man and nature, Senryu is satire. All Japanese forms, different emphasis. The Japanese language does not contain syllables, but rather sounds. So a Haiku may be written with any number of syllables, UP TO the limit of seventeen.

Excellent piece that portrays a mother's grief. Please check out a similar piece I did called "Screaming at the Sky." Warmest regards, Pandita.

Thank you Pandita for viewing my write and your kind comment. I did read your piece and it is so spot on the way you portrayed the very actions of grieving mothers that lost their child in death. I know; for that was exactly my experience.
