A Mother's Prayer

As I lay me down to sleep
I ask you Lord my son to keep
Shield him from all harm and despair
As he protects the nation we share

On the field, keep him strong and brave,
Help him free the exploited and enslaved
Fill him with your presence and strength
Keeping evil at arm’s length

And as he rests in his Army cot
Restore his soul and his thoughts
Show your power, Lord, in him I pray
And bring him home safe each and every day.

Kristie, a loving prayer for your son who is in the army. We are reminded that each day is a challenge for those within active duty and their families. God Bless you and your son. ~ Sonia
