A MOTHERS PLEA by JOHN M. ARRIBAS Oh Battlefield, Take Not My Son from Me Heed, Cede, Grant a Mothers Anxious Plea Spare Him, So I May Not Suffer Lifelong Pain Let Not Fruitless Prayers Unanswered Remain Let His Being Be Not Just a Memory Preserve His Being, Void a Tragedy Do Not Maim Him in Spirit or Flesh for His Sake Spare Me Bitterness Sorrow and Heartbreak In His Place, I Would Gladly Exchange Places Ring at the Door My Heart Frightened, Races Parents Do Not Bury Children, That Should Never Be Grant Him a Pardon So That in Time, He May Inter Me As it Should Be
