A mother's balance
Oh what a fabulous day today!
Not a day for the mundane, lets take the time
Travel out, go visit-"just a moment it will be fine"
Where was i? Ah yes
Thrown on a coat and smooth down my dress
Somewhere a treat, a change of routine
"Shoes on now, stop making a scene!"
Adventures to start-"no put that down please"
Castles or art? "I said get up off your knees!"
Bags packed, lock checked, oh we better get fuel!
This day is taxing, car packed like a mule
Yes lets start the fun, we deserve it us three
After a week of work, like felling a tree
"Stop shouting at her, now stop touching him"
This day out is a farce, my patience worn thin
"Not right now darling" I'm paying the man
Who probably regrets admitting my clan
"Guys pay attention" but i need a minute or ten
To gather myself, but arent i doing whats best for them?
Days out are a must, theyre not small for long
"Just give me a minute!" Its all going wrong
Back home we go, your haven, my roof
Mummy's just tired, and feeling aloof
Little arms creep around, "that's nice, little cuddle?"
"Oh you're brother's here too, jump up and snuggle!"
Regret sets in, they just want my time
Money no matter, just memories of mine
I try to not snap, doing it all alone
Guilt sneaks on in, as i check my phone
Photos of smiles, and mess and cake
It was worth it for them, my life they do make.
The love always there between tired and stressed,
mother finds it hard, but im doing my best
