A Morning At the Dam

Fishing with Grandpa Sam I could feel the shiver As we headed for the river The morning air Was light and fair A new journey I was taking I could hear the forest waking Be there early Had to hurry Everyone else is asleep I had to be quiet with my tiny feet Did not want to make a sound Silenced my shoes as they hit the ground Minnows in bucket Even had my lucky locket A special reel To see how fishing feels I remember sitting quietly by the riverbank Good Lord, I send my thanks This moment reconciling I saw my grandpa smiling A memory I do treasure Within my heart forever
