A Moment

for a moment I see you
for a moment you're there

for a moment I perceive
imagination's tawdry flare

for a moment the misty air
for moment the lying glare

for a moment it all is right
for a moment tis normal night

for a moment I gaze and see your form
for a moment all is right, life conform'd

for a moment I gaze and am at peace
for a moment we hold happy leas'd

for a moment the sheets are ruffled
for a moment is misery temp'ry baffled

for a moment it's all the same
for a moment, I feel not to blame

for a moment I can reach and hold
for a moment, is time unfold

For a moment, I can look and smile
for a moment, you trust and beguile

For a moment, you sleep in my life
For a moment, we have no strife

For a moment, we can be together
for a moment, it lasts forever

for a moment, your form is in my mind
for a moment, all is kind

for a moment, we will be as one
for a moment, happiness won

For a moment I see you there
For a moment, only a moment to spare

For in the next moment you're gone again
For in the next moment, it's never been

And in this moment I am alone
And in this moment, all is forlorn

You disappear and I am left to gaze
You're gone now forever, into memory's haze
