A Million Words

Word for word
I hold my tongue
What I’ve been
Trying to say
Has gotten stuck
Underneath my
Rib cage
My heart
Pounding on it
Tapping on it
As my blood
Rushes around
It
I’m afraid if
I let this out
My body
Will retaliate
Word for word
I’ll just write it
Down
