A Merry Old Soul Is Me

With all the crap going on in the world It's a wonder we maintain our humour Gets difficult if you watch the 6pm news Leaves us in a kind of a stupor Shouldn't find it strange or unusual Been normal as long as we've lived Would be strange if the news was happy Ain't happened since I was a kid Back then war was the news of the day But to me it was us against them Too young to know millions were dying The carnage wreaked by men What makes us so nasty to each other Are we only programmed to kill So why don't I have that killer instinct Am I missing what gives us the will Don't want it, not missing it, never had it Peace loving since I was wee More concerned with day to day living Just a merry old soul is me!

Good to see you writing, dear Jack! It is quite the social media madness in these days. Perhaps we might love our fellow man in our own neck of the woods. xx ~Kimmy

clever, witty, but profound dearest Jack. You're right...watching the news leaves me in a stupor...horrified at the evil and 'nastiness' portrayed in everything...even regular TV shows. I don't have the killer instinct either...thank God. Enjoy your day, Sara

Has there ever been a time when the world has been totally free of conflict of somewhere on this precious earth... I think not dear Sara! Go back in history back to the beginning of time as we know it! there has always been conflict! Very sad! Love from a very miid fall and winter so far........
