A Man
I sat here alone one night
and suddenly was given such a fright
I looked out the window and there
was a man standing there with a stare
He was shoveling dirt from the ground
I felt my heart start to pound
Why isn't anyone seeing this guy
Why can't I scream my throat is dry
He looks like something from the walking dead
I know if he touches me I'll feel dread
At last my neighbor came through
But to my shock he chose nothing to do
I signaled at him across my neck witb a fake knife
jJust then out their door came his wife
She hollered and he walked away
I felt that he would save the day
This man looked at me and grinned
I could tell it wasn't the first time he'd sinned
He put down the shovel and mouthed words
I was too scared to decifer what I heard
He walked around the house to the door
It opened and he came acrosas the floor
Two inches from my face he did stop
And asked me if I had a mop
I'd like to clean up my mess
Before I give you the rosebush from your aunt Bess
