A Mama's Fear

I awaken with confusion swirling in my head In a country far away my child lays down her weary head In a hospital tent set upon desolate desert sand Praying the night stays quiet in this distant foreign land Prepared to do what she is needed in a war torn place Administering aid to our soldiers in very limited space Whispering words of hope to the soldier who's lost an arm Silently asking for god to keep them all safe from harm Americans and Allies fighting so we might remain free For other people to understand what it is we all see The joy of freedom to live and worship, as we see fit To work, to play, to live our lives enjoying each little bit To raise our flag in honor of the country we hold dear If only there were a way to chase away this awful fear That one of the misguided souls will harm the one I love So I pray for each ones safety to a loving father up above
