A Love Worth More Than Gold

The spirits seem to whisper, in the night close to my ear. The hows and whys of living, and the things that we must fear. All pay homage to the known, When genius sleeps in the cold. How we have that hardened heart, That gives up a friend for gold. The legends born in our time, bring back some of the passion. When we had integrity, and it wasn't on ration. The old ones will remember, when words like trust had meaning. And actions were the rule, for life to be redeeming. One day in the far future, Man might wise up to the thought. A rose might be just a rose, and so love that can be bought! date: 1/1/2023
