A Love Poem
Robins singing church bells pealing
Children playing because it’s spring.
Leaves are budding on mighty boughs
And in the fields are grazing cows
With gnats all swarming round their eyes
And fresh new chips with hungry flies.
Through this country daytime scene
There blows a springtime breeze unseen
Its soothing breath excites our minds
We think back on another time
When we were young and standing here
The two of us, remember dear?
You are the reason robins sing
Without you dear there’d be no spring.
