A Lost Beat

I lost an arm, I lost a leg, I lost a beat from my heart, Through a hole in my head. A broken phrase, A broken smile, A world that fell down, With that flimsy lifestyle. The very last inch, Of the very last mile, I've bloodied feet from walking on glass, The time has come to the midnight sundial. I lost a light, I lost a hope, Playing in the stars in my dreams, Now those dreams hang by a rope. A lost soul, A lost mind, I lost the beats from my heart, Through the hole in my head.
