A loner walks down lover’s street
Passing by all the vendors where they used to eat
And all the big green bushes where they used to play hide and seek
And lookin at our bench where they carved their initials and kissed
Oh my knees get sooo week
Each time i pass that park adjacent creek
All those years i gave to you were waste
You packed it up and left me in haste
I did nothing wrong
I’m now in agony
All I can do is write a sad song
About how you abandoned me
My momma told me my love’s frivolous
Nobody was good enough for her baby boy
I told her what we had was marvelous
Yet you broke my heart like your old favourite toy
I look through the evidence and cant figure out why
Each night spent with you was such a high
Then you never even said goodbye
You burnt my heart, I take it to the surgeons to debride
But there was no healthy tissue left for them to find
The grass was green and the temp was 24
I breathed in the clean air and picked up my phone
There’s nothing better than being 22 in love
Unless you’re 22 and you’ve just been dumped
I grieved the future i dreamed for us
We would have happiness and been joyous so much
And the three kids we could have had
If only you were better than bad
Our first date you gave me a red rose
We spoke and discovered we shared the same favourite shows
Now that rose has nothing but thorns
Your love bomb has now left me love-lorn
We never worked in tandem
All our supposed fate was quite random
Return my heart, whats your ransom?
I guarantee you’ll never find another quite as handsome
No matter how much you would search
You’ll never find another who’ll love you as much
At night you are the actress starring in my dreams
I see you and then I promptly scream
“Did you even know you were the yang to my yin”
But everytime i see you now I remember how much of you I miss
Daddy says,” Its gonna be ok son”
But how will it be fine if i just lost the one
I see you now and then in our favourite restaurant
You come with your fiance and then your big rock you flaunt
I wish I wouldn’t see your face
But our are simply sooo intertwined
You get married like its a race
I am gonna be eternally behind
