A Lonely Walk
I walk through a lonely road,
With burdens and heavy loads;
I don’t know where it leads,
Not even certain how the signs would read.
Been trekking this harsh, gloomy nights
And only on wishes that I see the light;
In dreams, I pray that the sun will rise,
But I know I still have to pay a price.
At times, to hope I dwell,
And if it is real, I can’t even tell.
All I’m sure are fears and pain,
That mess up with my tears and the rain.
I’m sick, I’m tired, I want to rest.
Oh, how I wish the birds would share its nest.
And so I’ll stand and walk again;
This time, through happiness that I long to gain.
