A Lone Wolf

A lone wolf howls in at the night sky
We sit and ask the question why
 How can this happen
Why did it have to be
Are we ever to stop feeling this sad and lonely
He's gone but never to be forgoten from our memories
For he's tucked deep inside all of us where only we can see
Still making us laugh when we bring him to mind
For he was and will always be one of a kind
Good friend, gentle soul and brave warrior
He has gone to where he will remain for ever more
He sits and waits for the day
When our time will come and he'll be there to show us the way
