A Little Test

It’s easy to convince myself That talking on the phone Or via Zoom or texting Makes me feel much less alone. Of course, it does, to some extent But what about the rest? To realize it’s a fallacy, Just try this little test: Go visit friends or family You’ve not seen in an age And grab them in the biggest hug Your body can engage. You’ll have to then acknowledge That long-distance love, though sweet, When measured next to face-to-face Just really can’t compete.

Zoom is nothing compared to this "And grab them in the big hug". Your poem is appropriate right now.

Well said, Ilene! Quarantine has been, "culture shock" for billions accustomed to being hugged!

That is true! You can't hug a phone or computer screen. Well, I guess you could, but it wouldn't be the same. Blessings, Kim M

So very true Ilene, zoom and facetime just don't compare with real physical contact. Tom
