A Little Pop of Red

A little pop of red
In the winter scene
A little pop of red
Among the glistening 
A little pop of red
Atop the snowy ground
A little pop of red
This season he is found
A little pop of red 
Known as the cardinal 
A little pop of red
Just out my window
A little pop of red 
I watch now through the vines
A little pop of red
Catches my mind’s eye
Now winter I won’t dread
For that little pop of red
