A Lifetime Ago

The streets were cruel and hard to live on
But now I've grown that girl is forever gone
I've retained the lessons I've learned out there
People can be hateful, life isn't always fair
But life can always be changed, this I know
Look at me now, I can smile and I can grow
To reach another level in this crazy life, see?
Anyone can dream for a better life, now make it be
All it takes is a positive attitude and strength
You can change your life friend, go the length
I am living proof that anyone can rise up above
As long as you have hope, faith, and lots of love
You need to have faith in all the good things
And all of the happiness that love always brings
But now it seems like a few lifetimes ago
