A Life of Abuse

Children are not aware that they are being abused
until they grow up to be abnormal human beings,
unable to differentiate reality from dreams,
inept to understand a helping hand from hate,
because they spent their lives around people
who lacked patience and were always irate,
A life of abuse becomes the norm for most
young folks, until they experience the world
at large and realize their tumultuous life was
always a joke,

In reality, abuse is not a way of life,
it is an atrocity, that many keep hidden
to avoid hate and infamy,
The irreparable harm that is created
at the hands of abusers can never be
reversed,

So most victims go through life feeling
numb, hurt, and secretly believing they are
losers.........
