A Letter To Mom

What were you thinking when this happened long ago?
Who was involved? Does anybody know?
Was he your true love, or gone in a blink?
Did he know your name? Did he know how you think?
Where did it start and how did it end?
Did you consider him a lover? An enemy? A friend?
Did you have his number? Did you try to call?
Did he ever learn I existed at all?
Did anyone suspect? Was anyone alarmed?
Is that why they disliked us? Or did we leave them unharmed?
Did it scare you when I often questioned this fact?
Did you keep a straight face, or did I miss when you cracked?
Did you want me to know? Did you think I'd find out?
Did you genuinely believe I'd give up on my doubt?
So many thoughts swirl around in my head
But unlike you, I will not leave them unsaid.

A heartfelt letter you’ve written Avery, I hope you find answers to your questions, whether you do or do not be thankful for the life and blessings you’ve got. Regards, Belle
