A Letter For You

Dearest love,
I hope this letter finds you in a well form.
You are constantly what I dream of,
Your flawless image loving and warm.
It’s been too long since I’ve seen your face,
Since I’ve held your hand and kissed your dimpled cheeks.
I’m no longer comfortable in this place,
These last calamitous weeks.
I’ve not heard your laughter or voice,
I’ve not held you or rubbed your back.
But essentially it’s your choice,
And I understand the necessities I lack.
I long for the times of happiness and joy,
Missing you every second of every day.
Joking and teasing oh so coy,
Enjoying each other in every which way.
I miss hearing you talk about anything at all,
I sit longingly and alone waiting for a call.
But the time slows down and begins to erase.
How long until you forget my face?
I’m left with memories and endless pictures.
How long until I can see you and kiss you like times long ago?
A plan of hope and healing ensures,
What we both crave to know.
How long will you wait for me and linger?
How long until I wait to put the ring on your finger?
We’ve battled the hardest part,
A long distance between us meant nothing before.
A forever longing heart,
Stifled out because I cannot have more.
When does the healing start,
How long until I’m done with this war.
But my love, I do digress,
I just miss you so much.
I’m making the progress,
The yearning of your touch.
I’ll await your reply and hope it is well.
With a heavy sigh, I can never tell.
So I sign this letter with hugs and kisses,
Hoping for success and fulfilling wishes.
Xoxo, forever yours my love.
I look forward to the future, my sparkling dove.
