Author's Notes: This poem, "A Leprechaun's Christmas Dream," was written as a Rhymed Couplet. This very happy and uplifting write is a collaborated effort between my wife Ingrid and me. The fun part was coming up with a suitable theme and story-line to match with what we had envisioned for a close, developed, and positive relationship between Santa Claus and his new "First Helper," Timothy -- The Irish Leprechaun. We hope you enjoy reading this most interesting couplet!! Merry Christmas to All!! (Gary Bateman and Ingrid Krukenberg-Bateman - December 3, 2015) (Rhymed Couplet)

A Leprechaun’s Christmas Dream This story is of a spry little elf’s most sacred special ever dream; His hope to work one day for Santa Claus on his North Pole team. This tiny green man, a true Leprechaun with a funny and bold way; Santa first saw this elf as he was flying his sleigh o’er him one day. Another time fly’n o’er Ireland a day prior to Christmas Eve’s time, Santa again saw this elf—a smil’n and a sing’n in best Irish rhyme! The Leprechaun’s name was “Timothy” with such a cherubic face; He could down three shots of stout-hard Irish Dew at a rapid pace! Santa wanted such a wonderful Irish helper full of humor and fun, Who could make kids laugh and smile with every story-told pun! Timothy’s quaint green-eyed twinkle Santa saw, making him smile; He knew Timothy would always work hard and go that extra mile! For Timothy being an Irish elf didn’t always match his true self real; With his magic gifts and Pot of Gold—he would make Santa a deal! “Methinks Santa, all shall be fun for us with the kids’ puns and play!” “Mewishes to give o’er me Pot of Gold to you, on this blessed day!” Santa sensed and saw Timothy’s true self and his real Heart of Gold, Now giving o’er his Pot of Gold for needy children—an act so bold! Timothy came with Santa as his “First Helper” on Christmas Eve night; Happy all children were seeing Santa’s radiant sleigh in the moonlight! Santa even let Timothy ride on Rudolph, whose red nose shone so bright, As Santa’s sleigh made its sacred, happy journey on this wondrous night! Timothy’s story of his Christmas Dream came true on this star-lit night, When he became one of Santa’s team members on this most divine night!
