A Leaf Falls

by Michael J Falotico

                                               leaf sprouts on the tree
                                              baby in the carriage sees
                                                 full bloom in summer.

                                              young man sits on bench
                                           colors change as time passes
                                                 old man holds a leaf

I actually have a poem somewhere that starts with "a leaf falls"-- I never got around to finishing it, maybe me seeing your poem is a sign? But I love your take on it-- it is deep and I really like how you contrast the sprouting of that leaf to life, and of falling leaves with aging-- very thought provoking! and haha now you know, it's not only me who is crazy here?? lol, burgers & a massage, who'd have thunk right? hugs :)

Beautiful, Michael. The colors change during the seasons of our lives. Whether for a contest or not, this great poem stands on its own! Best wishes and love, Carolyn PS - I've been quite sick so I haven't been online much.
