Triolet
A French verse form. Its rhyme scheme is ABaAabAB and all lines are in iambic tetrameter; the first, fourth and seventh lines are identical, as are the second and final lines, thereby making the initial and final couplets identical as well. The features of the Triolet are: 8 lines. Two rhymes. 5 of the 8 lines are repeated or refrain lines. First line repeats at the 4th and 7th lines. Second line repeats at the 8th line.

The lamb of March morphs into a lion, and with a roar, winter decides to fight. As the Pleiades flee from Orion the lamb of March morphs into a lion. And flurries bury the dandelion denying flowers spring's essential light. The lamb of March morphs into a lion, and with a roar, winter decides to fight. Denying flowers spring's essential light, the earliest blooms are all doomed to die. Winter may be almost through, yet not quite, denying flowers spring's essential light. The red-breasted robin first takes flight as tepid breezes summon them to fly. Denying flowers spring's essential light, the earliest blooms are all doomed to die. As tepid breezes summon them to fly, flocks of songbirds start migrating back home. Yes, they're coming, not a word of a lie, as tepid breezes summon them to fly. And unaware March is going awry, they arrive in a land of monochrome. As tepid breezes summon them to fly, flocks of songbirds start migrating back home. (Intertwining Triolet) 03,26,2019
