A Kiss

i tried to tell you what i was feeling
but was so nervous i simply couldnt
so instead of mumbling i kissed your lips
and said all that my words just wouldnt

i rehearsed my speech a thousand times
but in the end it came out the same
forgetting what i'd thought i perfected
And nearly everything by my name

sometimes even my name eludes me
a slow spiral towrads disaster
it was much different than a mirror at home
my heart started beating even faster

now its time to tell you good bye
but still no words, as you can see
so i'll kiss you again, slowly...softly
because my lips say it better than me
