A Kiss
A Kiss
They tell of the kiss in songs to sing and in the poems that rhyme.
It has the power to break a heart or heal a troubled mind.
It is purest in a morning greeting or at the end of a perfect day.
Can anything be better at a sad time, when you see a friend away?
I have seen the rays of the sun, as they kiss the morning dew.
The darkness as it fades away, kissed by a sky of blue.
There is a kiss for a champion, for a race he has won.
Even a kiss for the one who lost, for the race well run.
There is a kiss for Auld Lang Syne the end of another year.
A kiss for a little child, to quite a night-time fear.
There is a kiss of betrayal, told in ancient times.
A kiss that turned a frog to a prince, heard in a nursery rhyme.
So, as I think about it, A kiss can be the best,
But, there can be a danger, there's also the kiss of death.
