A King Worthy of Many Praises

The starry night over the town of silent Bethlehem
brought many to that small manger
where Jesus was born; no brighter
star was ever seen as far as the city of Jerusalem!

The shepherd and the drum-player came, they walked miles
side by side bringing their humble gifts to meet a King worthy
of many praises! They saw the Wise Men riding their camels
draped with bells and asked them, " Are you going the same way? "

They smiled pointing out to the brilliant midnight star that guided them,
" We, too, are heading there to see a King worthy of many praises! "
" Yes, we have heard of the wonderful Emmanuel whom all the angels proclaim! "
" His birth was foretold a long time ago, now we can worship Him on our knees! "

When they got there, the stable echoed with angelic songs full of mirth...
Mary and Joseph showed them the Redeemer laying in the warm hay;
they bowed to pay homage to Christ, then the drummer started to play,
the shepherd offered Him a sheep and the Magi: gold, incense and myrrh!
