A Is For Anger

A young girl named Fay,
Noticed one day
That her face seemed to have turned a pinkish way.
She began to think,
"Why is my face pink?
It seemed to happen when I felt mad."
She wondered if, the anger that she felt, is bad.
Her best friend came over to play.
Fay sadly decided to say,
"When we played early yesterday,
I felt happy that you're my best friend
So, I want to be honest and not pretend.
My face turned pink, and I began to think,
That I was angry when you laughed at me."
Her friend with sadness said, "I'm sorry.
I'm glad you let your feelings be known.
Otherwise, I would not have known."
She then told Fay that her mother
Told her and her brother
That often people can disagree;
That everyone sometimes gets angry.
And that feelings are not right or wrong.
Honest feelings show that friendship is strong.

Jan, I read your poem on anger and also liked it, especially the last line; unexpected. Good luck to you too. Barbara Babrara
