A Humble Prayer

Written 17 September 2026 from the bed
 of a private clinic while under treatment.

Oh my Lord, so far away in the sky,
Yet immersed close in my heart and my eye,
I yearn to kiss the dust from your pink feet,
A petal from your lotus shrine to greet.

I long for a drop of milk of your grace
And each one of your footprint to embrace,
Sweep the soil ahead of the path you tread
Blow off from me all particles of dread.

Oh Lord, my humble prayer at your shrine
Is to assuage my sharp pains over time,
Let them silently fade in the cool air
Under the luminous glow of your care.

I submit myself to your divine will
To elevate me from the earthly chill,
Relieve my acute suffering and strains
And deliver me from the cyclic chains.

I thirst to bathe in your ocean of love,
Relish from your flute, sweet tunes of the dove,
Reap but one gleam of your sparkling beauty,
Sip just one glow of your eternity.

At day`s end, I crave to merge with your Whole,
Lost eternally in the Supreme Soul,
Serve you with all my heart through time and space,
Taste but one drop of nectar of your grace.

May just one drip from your lake of kindness
Fill my breast with your perfume of sweetness,
That pervades the entity of your shrine
And infuse the universe with your shine.

My earnest prayers for a humble lee,
My supplications and my sincere plea
To lie awhile in shade of Vrindavan,
To wash your pink heels, my Madhusudan,

This Vrindavan, the seedbed of your youth,
Divine realm of Radharani, in truth,
Where the Yamuna flows with silver grace
And carves an eternal heavenly space.
