A Holiday In Spain
A Holiday in Spain
Endless blue, no cloud in sight
Golden sands, with Gulls in flight.
Rolling waves and boiling surf
Pleasures of this spinning Earth.
Sparrows drink from sprinkler head
Fledglings squawking in their bed.
Never ending task of feeding
New young birds continue breeding.
Palm trees sway in gentle breezes
Ice cream in cold boxes freezes.
Fanta, Cola, tea and Whiskey
Couples with bare skin get frisky.
Buildings white and buildings dark
Rise starkly next to wooded park.
Beaches host some joyful screaming
Sun beds, loungers, owners dreaming.
Promenade sees couples walking
Local traders, constant stalking.
Along the way pass cafe and bars
Resting place, no sign of cars.
Hotel works like toasting fan
Go in pale, come out with tan.
Food and beer is always there
Drink too much and risk a dare.
Swimming pool so cool, refreshing
Children, shallow end are splashing.
Lazy River round the edge
Take deep breath and dive from ledge.
Time has come to wind our way
Luton, Heathrow, Gatwick say.
New friends farewell and sad goodbye
To home, our pets, our work we fly.
