This poem is about what God may have been thinking when planning to send his only son to die for us and save us from our sins; if we only believe. He tempted us in the beginning. Now he has given us a way back..
A History of Easter
From God's point of view

Through Adam's fault at Eve's behest
The Serpent's fruit was bit
Mankind was condemned for life
From just one taste of it
I threw them from the garden
Where all was peace and good
Gave them the power to decide
There went the neighborhood
The two begat and theirs begat
And theirs begat some more
Every generation sinned
There was so much to explore
I looked down, cringed from the sight,
Rethought what I had done
It's time I saved a few of them
Think I'll send them down my son
To live his life as they should live
By example show the way
Die on the cross for all their sins
Rise from the grave on Easter day
Show his followers it's truly him
By the nail scars in his hands
Say go and preach what happened
Spread the word throughout the lands
Then he will rise up to me
To sit again upon my right
To wait and see what happens
To see who will take the bite
For those who believe I did it
That I sacrificed my son
Who believe he is your savior
That he is the only one
Who live your lives as he did his
Bring honor and be good
When you die we'll meet in heaven
That's how we save the neighborhood
