A Helping Heart
It's easy to let routine get the best of you and to let the days pass.
But now I have a question to ponder, a question to ask.
When was the last time you lent a helping hand,
to someone who was truly in need of it, even if you didn't fully understand?
A stranger that is, a passerby, whose name you didn't know,
because when we help one another, we help our community grow.
Let us not continue in our steady way, when we see a person in need,
Let us do what we can to stop in our tracks, turn toward them, and
sow a seed.
If it were you, how would you feel, if someone saw your pain and continued on their merry way?
Remember that your actions define your life, as you do the same thing day by day by day.
I hope my little poem encourages you to do something kind for someone else,
even if they are odd, or different than you, because how do you know that that opportunity will fall on someone else?
When you lend a helping hand, you're really extending a helping heart,
and that makes all the difference in the world, at least, it's a start.
