A Heavy Heart
Lord please don’t forsake our country,
We once were the home of the brave, the land of the free.
We’ve closed our eyes and have covered our ears,
And fallen shamefully from Your grace, in this day of confusion and fears.
A nation that once praised Your mighty name,
Now stands by and allows Your Word to be disgraced and shamed.
A nation founded on Your very word,
Now is trying so very hard to have Your word not heard.
Like Sodom and Gomorrah we will reap the things which we have sewn,
Because we are divided and many disbelieve the written word that You have shown.
Money and greed have become the masters and the way,
Even through Your name many are exploited these days.
Woe be unto those that have done these evil deeds,
For their harvest shall be unfruitful when spawned by unrighteous seeds.
Lord Bless those that keep Your word and praise Your holy name,
Even when being persecuted let them hold their heads high without any shame.
Lord I pray for my brothers and sisters as well,
I pray for those on a collision course that is headed straight for hell.
I pray for the lost, the sick, and the lame,
But most of all I pray that they all come to worship Your name.
