A Heart Shaped Through Time

A heart has many shapes and forms...
Some are fragile glass because of storms...
One could be a dresser draw with no handle..
Another could be dark like a wick less candle..
You have some that are warm and bright...
Others might be locked up and ready for a fight..
Mine has some hidden cracks not seen by the eye..
It has been tested over the years for some that
have stopped by..
Hold your heart strong inside, know when to open it
you might be surprised by the ride...

You certainly hide the "hidden cracks" in your heart well, Michael. Really like the way you describe the different types of hearts, especially the dark one "like a wickless candle." After a while we learn how to keep our hearts strong, only opening it when good will enter. Excellent poem, my friend. Love, Carolyn

There is always the unknown but I guess we all try and press on even when it seems futile.. In the end our hearts grow stronger and our characters are an added dimension.. Enjoyed this thought provoking piece Mr. R, love Wilma
