A Happy Tear In My Eye

Noises from the backyard
Where fireflies are being chased
Aromas from the kitchen
Promise my hunger will be erased

Musical notes from the baby grand
Practicing without a fight
I love being a family man
When day turns into night

The soapy smell of just washed hair
As I read a bedtime story
Walking through the bedroom maze
Of not yet picked up toys

A goodnight kiss from toothpaste lips
Hearing my wife sing a lullaby
As lights turn out, without a doubt
That's a happy tear in my eye
