A Halo Goodbye

An alm-timed good deed
got evilly rewarded
The saintly gesture, labor of love
was given a
perfidious payment

Death by dissimulation
uttered a bullet cry
Good Samaritan intentions
was given a
hot metal, cold evil eye

A warm welcoming, kind-hearted try
was given a
glowing halo goodbye

It is not in the reception of the deed that haloes are given but in the intent of the giver that they are bestowed. Please do not give upon us yet. Well written.

i have always heard it said no good deed goes unpunished, even more so in this sad world we live in....powerful penning, the image lingers long after the read... good write!

Sadly, this has happened and often and will happen more often, I fear as we become more and more afraid of each other."Good Samaritan intentions was given a hot metal, cold evil eye" - wow!
