Stalking the dark of Halloween night
With hollow eyes that have no sight
There is no flesh upon my bones
I can't seem to find my way home.
I'd lay dying upon my bed
With no one there to share my death
No hand to hold as mine grew cold
No comfort for my heart's console.
For many months alone I've laid
No one to see me to my grave
My weary soul is seeking rest
And that's the reason for my quest.
But where O where am I to go
Heaven or Hell, I do not know
The living turn and run away
Will not give me the time of day.
I see ghosts and ghouls everywhere
I ask for help but they dont care
I tried hitching a broomstick ride
"No skeletons" the witches cried.
So I roam this scariest night
Hoping that angels see my plight
Tho' I be only made of bone
My heart's pure gold, not made of stone.
If you see me, I beg you stay
Don't look then walk the other way
I promise I am not a ghost
Just a corpse wrapped up in a cloak.
