A Good Man
Now they say a good man is hard to find,
And a good man is the marryin' kind.
If he don't mind leavin' his past behind,
Why that's a good man and good for tryin'
Now a good man will wipe your tears away,
And he'll hold you tight 'til it's all OK.
A good man will laugh at his own bad day,
And smile and nod at whatever you say.
A good man is there in stormy weather
And makes the load seem light as a feather.
He'll be nearby, it don't matter whether
You've songs to sing or sadness to gather
But most of all he just fits like a glove.
It feels like he has dropped down from above.
It'll take awhile, you might need a shove,
But you'll soon find that a good man can love.
